Since 1969, ESADE has been a depositary of the official publications of the European Communities, and in 1983 became an official European Documentation Centre.
The European Documentation Centres (EDC) belong to the information network created by the European Commission in universities and higher education and research institutions of the member states of the European Union (EU). They bring together most of the documentation produced by the community institutions and their mission is to make the EU's information sources available to users, to circulate community policies and to become a key point for European information in universities and institutions.
The main objectives of the EDC are:
* Help the academic community to promote research and teaching in European integration.
* Provide organizations, companies and professionals with access to regulations, programmes, statistics and databases.
* Contribute to presenting EU policies to the citizens in general, in accordance with the community institutions' desire to offer transparent information.
